The owner was very helpful and accommodating, providing useful advice and arranging activities like safaris and tours. The hotel had a peaceful atmosphere, with a nice view of the surrounding grassed area and wildlife.- The owner offered transportation services at a reasonable price, making it convenient to explore the nearby attractions.
The furniture in the rooms was a bit sparse compared to the size of the room, lacking some essential pieces like bedside tables and proper storage for clothes. The hotel's location was a bit away from the main road, requiring a 5-minute walk, which might be inconvenient for some guests.

During my stay at Ancient Village, I experienced exceptional customer service that surpassed any I had encountered before. The boss was incredibly knowledgeable and fluent in English, providing invaluable assistance in planning our activities in Polonnaruma. The attention to detail and ensuring our needs were met was commendable. Moreover, the noodles and rice served at the hotel were absolutely delicious, a highly recommended dining option. The staff even went the extra mile to get us ice cream when we had a craving. I highly recommend this hotel due to its outstanding customer service and tasty culinary offerings.

Beautiful rice paddies outside our door, with lots of peacocks, Ibis, and mongoose in the morning. The owner easily arranged an elephant safari for a good price. The location is close to the clocktower area with shops and restaurants, and there is a weekly market nearby on Tuesdays.
There was no wifi, which was a problem for us as we were working while traveling. The room could have used more storage.
